Binoy R. V. Meghraj, Chairman

Binoy has two decades of experience in the finance industry, and is a founder of Meghraj Capital. He is the Executive Vice Chairman of Meghraj Group. He focuses on the Group’s strategy, investment banking advisory businesses and new business initiatives. Binoy is based between Dubai and Tokyo, where he has been advising large Japanese companies on overseas acquisitions and partnerships. 


Madabhushi Soundararajan, Country Managing Director, Kenya

Madabhushi Soundararajan (“Soundy”) has primary board responsibility for client relationships and business development. He also provides strong leadership to the Kenyan team and its commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and governance.

Soundy’s illustrious banking career spans 4 decades, his particular strengths being in finance and corporate credit, initially in India with State Bank of India and then Standard Chartered Bank. Soundy has worked in Kenya since 1988 and prior to joining MTC, Soundy was Managing Director of CFC Bank, Kenya, a position he held until June 2008. Soundy continues to offer consultancy services to a number of clients with a particular focus on financial services, wealth and investment management. He serves on several large company boards.


Chandrashekar Iyer, Managing Director, India

Chandrashekar has over two decades of experience working in the infrastructure sector. Previously he worked with Reliance Industries in their Strategic Planning Group in the Vice Chairman’s office, CRISIL Advisory Services and PwC’s Energy & Utilities Advisory Group covering power, gas and renewable energy. Chandrashekar’s engagement experience consists of advising governments, utilities, regulators and private sector clients across 16 states in India.


Murray Robertson, Managing Director, UK

Murray qualified with PwC and worked in their Aberdeen, Glasgow, Oklahoma and Jersey offices in assurance and corporate finance. He has been both FD and CEO of multiple trading entities across several sectors and ran a successful corporate finance boutique as Managing Partner working on transactions in the hotel, leisure, property, defence and energy sectors.

He is a Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is based in London.


Sozo Imamura, Managing Director, Japan

Sozo has 16 years of investment banking experience in Japan and the US with a focus on cross-border M&A and partner search transactions. He is a specialist in the TMT sector. He was previously founder and CEO of Tokyo Advisory Group, an independent investment banking firm, before which Sozo was a Senior Banker at Mizuho Securities and Deutsche Securities in Tokyo and New York.


Aziz Mutvalli, Director & Chief Financial Officer, India

Aziz has more than three decades of experience in accounts, tax and treasury functions. He heads the Finance and Accounts team and is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He has previously worked with Pidilite and IVP.


Kiriga Kunyiha, Head of M&A Advisory, Kenya

Kiriga has over 12 years of experience in private equity, focusing on origination, structuring, negotiating, execution and value creation in private equity transactions. He previously worked with The Abraaj Group and Aureos Capital in Kenya. He has actively participated in a variety of investments in East Africa for the Acacia Fund, Aureos East Africa Fund and Aureos Africa Fund. He has been involved in M&A for portfolio companies.


Abhinay Rao, Director, India

Abhinay has over 11 years of experience in financial services, including M&A, joint ventures, private equity syndication and debt financing.  He has led a number of cross-border M&A transactions. He has previously worked for India Advisory Partners in India and UK, and Zurich Financial and CIBC World Markets in the US.  He has a BSc in Industrial Management from Purdue University, an MBA from University of Southern California and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
